Step 7. Revision

If the submitted dataset is not properly described, it should be returned to the depositor. To do this, select the Publish Dataset button on the right side of the screen and choose the Return to Depositor option.

In the comment to the depositor, explain why the dataset is being returned (default: for correction). Unfortunately, this information is not recorded anywhere in the system. A good practice is to include a note such as: "The Dataset requires revision. A detailed explanation has been sent by email." In this case, another data steward can also be added to the full revision history and correspondence.
